DBC Generator

Download the Complete J1939 DBC File — Instant Access, Always Current

The J1939 DBC Generator provides a complete CAN database file built directly from the SAE J1939DA standard. The file covers 2,162 parameter groups with all associated SPNs, including start bit positions, data length in bits, scaling factors, offsets, physical units, and valid ranges — everything your CAN analysis tool needs to decode J1939 traffic without manual configuration.

The DBC file is compatible with Vector CANoe, CANdb++, PEAK PCAN-Explorer, Kvaser Database Editor, SavvyCAN, and any tool that supports the standard .dbc format. It is generated dynamically at the moment of purchase, ensuring you always receive the most current version of the database.

The free preview lets you generate and download a DBC file for up to 5 PGNs of your choice before purchasing. Enter any PGN number from the SAE J1939DA standard — for example, 61444 (EEC1 — Electronic Engine Controller 1), 65262 (ET1 — Engine Temperature 1), or 65265 (CCVS1 — Cruise Control / Vehicle Speed 1). Use the PGN Lookup tool if you need to find the right PGN number for a specific parameter group.

The complete DBC file includes all 2,162 PGNs from the J1939DA standard organized by parameter group number, with signal definitions for every SPN including engine management (EEC1, EEC2), vehicle speed and cruise control (CCVS), aftertreatment (AT1), fluid levels and pressure (EFL/P1), engine temperature (ET1), and hundreds more.

Each signal entry follows the standard DBC format with bit position, length, byte order, value type, scaling, offset, minimum, maximum, unit, and receiving node. Comments are included for every message and signal with the SAE parameter name and valid range.

For fault code reference on any SPN in the DBC file, use the SPN FMI Lookup tool. For live PGN specifications including transmission rates and priorities, use the PGN Lookup tool.
